IATS Outside Course Petition
Beginning this semester, students taking courses outside of IATS will need to have pre-approval of the course by the student’s guidance counselor and Principal. Students will have the opportunity to earn up to 16 Credits from outside programs towards their High School Diploma. Courses taken prior to the 2019-2020 Spring semester will NOT count against the 16 credit total. High school credit will NOT be granted to courses taken without the completed and signed “Petition for Outside Credit” form. Questions may be directed to Mrs. Hagen at firstname.lastname@example.org.

February 11, 2020 – English 10 and Math ISTEP+ for Re-testers
February 27, 2020 – English 10 and Math ISTEP+ Practice Exam and Part 1 for all 10th Grade Students
April 9, 2020 – English 10 and Math ISTEP+ Part 2 for all 10th Grade Students
April 20 – 24, 2020 – ILearn for northern regions (grades 7 and 8)
April 27 – May 1, 2020 – ILearn for south-central region (grades 7 and 8)
May 4 – 8, 2020 – ILearn for southern region (grades 7 and 8)
May 13, 2020 – ILearn Biology test for grade 9
It is important to remember that the school Active Participation Days are an integral part of your enrollment at IATS. While it is understood if you have to miss an APD, we hope that absence does not happen often. If you are absent, it is your responsibility to replace those educational hours and submit them for verification. APD’s are held on the school farm campus as well as off-site locations. Students are responsible for their own transportation and meals. APD admission costs for students, if any, are covered by IATS.
January APD Plans
All APD’s will take place on Tuesdays from 9 AM-3PM unless other wise noted in emails and on the school calendar. If you are attending an APD at the Morgantown Farm campus, the hours are EST, while the St. Joe College campus in Rensselaer is CST.
The table below outlines the APD’s for January.
**There is an additional opportunity to assist Mrs. Wolfe with a student hearing study on January 14th. Please check your emails and return the consent form before arrival. Participating students will receive up to $25 in gift cards! There is no risk or responsibility involved for the students or parents.
Please always dress for the outdoors and the weather, as students may at any time be in a variety of activities or locations on the farm.
Bring your own lunch- students are not allowed to leave the campus during the lunch break.
Attendance will be taken at every APD.
Sign-Up Genius links will only be used this semester for off-site APD’s.

Ag Class Updates
Mrs. Wolfe has emailed a MyCaert Student Manual to all of her classes. Please check your emails to find this manual which explains how to access MyCaert for agriculture classes, as well as how to proceed through the class, submit quizzes, and complete assignments.

School-Related Text Messages
Our school utilizes the SchoolMessenger system to deliver text messages, straight to your mobile phone with important information about events, school closings, safety alerts and more.You can participate in this service just by sending a text message of “Y” or “Yes” to our school’s short code number, 67587.
You can also opt-out of these messages at any time by simply replying to one of our messages with “Stop”.
IATS is doing its first yearbook! A survey was recently sent out asking if you’d be interested in purchasing a yearbook. Now that we’ve determined enough interest, we are asking that you let us know if you intend on purchasing a yearbook by completing the order form by January 10, 2020. The yearbooks will be approximately $40, but the actual cost will be determined once the number of ordered yearbooks is finalized. In addition, please let Sarah Haag know if you or someone you know might be interested in purchasing advertising space in the yearbook! Our yearbook staff will contact the people and organizations on that list with all of the details!
