APD Reminders- Please note the RSVP deadlines!
- September APD Week #7 (9/24 and 9/26)- FFA Center Paving Day; Orchard Trips. Deadline to RSVP is TODAY, Friday, 9/20. There are 3 choices for this week, and students can attend multiple APD’s if they would like. Please click on the link to see age restrictions, times, addresses, details, etc.
- October APD Week #8 (10/1 and 10/2)- Livestock Experience Days; Major Tool’s Manufacturing Education Day
- Livestock Day (10/1)- You may choose to go to the Morgantown farm (9 AM-3 PM EST) or the Rensselaer location (Stock Vets, 5280 W 100 S, Rensselaer, IN 47978; arrive at 9:00 AM CST/10 AM EST).
- The Morgantown livestock day (Farm) will include rotations with the Indiana Beef Council, local goat producers, sheep, horses, pasture management, weaning procedures, and more.
- The Rensselaer location (Stock Vets) will cover livestock reproduction with flushing embryos, testing semen quality, and artificial insemination.
- Choose your location by Sept. 27th
- Manufacturing Education Day (10/2)- Major Tool and Machine (1458 E 19th St, Indianapolis, IN 46218) (Noon-2 PM EST)
- This event is hosted by the manufacturing company, for grades 9-12. Career discussions, manufacturing demonstrations, facility tour, technology demonstrations and more!
- However, we only have 40 spaces available- sign up early!
- RSVP by Sept. 27th
- Students may attend BOTH APD’s this week if they would like!

- 10/8- (2 locations) Choose between Morgantown Farm (9 AM-3 PM EST) and Rensselaer location (St. Joseph College Campus- Core Building lecture hall, 1498 South College Avenue, Rensselaer, Indiana 47978) (9 AM-2 PM CST)
- 10/10- Morgantown Farm location only (9 AM-1 PM EST)

- Fall Break is October 14th-18th. No APD’s that week, but please remember that you can be attending other Educational Experiences and submitting the hour verification form (attached).
- We will return to APD’s on October 22 and 24 at Corteva Agriscience in Indianapolis! The sign-up link for this APD, as well as the November APD’s, will come out in the next newsletters.
MyCaert Updates
- All agriculture courses are in MyCaert, NOT Edgenuity.
- www.mycaert.com; login- “firstnamelastnameiats19-20”; password- “Awesome”
- It is the student’s responsibility to determine how they take notes on each e-unit and/or PowerPoint for their study purposes for the quizzes.
- Quizzes will be activated and will have at least 5 days with unlimited attempts for now, as everyone familiarizes themselves with the platform.
- Your grade is based solely on your weekly quiz grades and completion. A semester test will also be given.

FFA membership
- It is not too late to join- email Mrs. Wolfe at awolfe@indiana.ag if you would still like to join and you will be put on the email listserve.
- A membership email is being sent regarding official dress, National Convention, camps, contests, meeting dates, and the online waiver.
- FFA Membership will close on September 30th.
