Why IATS?

Individualized Coursework

Indiana Agriculture & Technology School will be using EDGENUITY for its core curriculum program.  EDGENUITY offers more than 100 courses for grades 6-12 in English language arts, social studies, math, science, world languages, and general electives.  EDGENUITY also offers a full suite of career pathways and electives, test preparation solutions for national and state exams, and credit recovery courses.  EDGENUITY courses are implemented in lab settings, online and blended environments, and alternative education programs that require flexible schedule.  EDGENUITY meets the Indiana State Academic Standards and Common Core. The program provides students the opportunity to learn from the safety of their own home under the supervision of a certified Student Learning Advocate.

Hands on Learning

A blended educational approach using online education and on-site, hands-on laboratory experience to produce highly qualified high school graduates, ready to pursue higher education and/or workforce opportunities. These hands learning opportunities will take place on our regional campuses located in the northern, central, and southern parts of the state. Students will attend the campus for face-to-face instruction.

Career Opportunities

IATS will establish a network of corporate, agriculture, and technology partners throughout the state that will provide internships, part time and full-time jobs for students who maintain academic standards and progress toward graduation. IATS will support and assist as needed the partners to ensure legal and business compliance. The business partners will provide a placement support team that will work with students to ensure access to jobs. This will encourage and support students who plan post-secondary education including vocational options.

Student Support System

Students are supported by Indiana-licensed Teachers, Learning Advocates, Success Coaches, and Concept Coaches who work cooperatively to ensure that a student understands expectations and completes courses on schedule. Each student will have a Personal Learning Plan crafted to meet his/her individual needs and will be assigned to a Student Learning Advocate, who will serve as the student’s guidance counselor and mentor and will be in constant contact with the student and his or her family.

NO Tuition Fee

Indiana Agricultural & Technology School is a tuition-free public charter school authorized by the University of Southern Indiana and under the accreditation of the Indiana Department of Education.
