THE BISON

MEET OUR MASCOT

At Indiana Agriculture & Technology School, we’re proud to introduce the Bison as our official mascot for all sports, clubs, and student events.

The bison represents more than strength — it symbolizes the spirit of our school: resilient, grounded in heritage, and built for the future.

Once roaming freely across Indiana, including along the historic Vincennes Trace, bison left a path that helped shape our state’s landscape.

Today, that same spirit runs through our students.

The last documented wild bison in Indiana was killed in 1830 in French Lick, marking the end of an era in our state’s natural history.

FYI: The plural of bison is bison

WHY THE BISON?

STRENGTH +
RESILIENCE

Built for tough conditions, bison represent power and determination.

COMMUNITY +
TEAMWORK

Bison live in herds, reminding us of the value of unity and collaboration.

ADAPTABILITY + INNOVATION

Just as bison thrive in diverse environments, IATS students prepare for a world of change through tech and agriculture.

HERITAGE + SUSTAINABILITY

The bison connects us to Indiana’s past and our commitment to future-ready, sustainable education.

With the Bison as our symbol, we unify our campuses, inspire school pride, and reinforce the values that guide us — courage, connection, and the pursuit of excellence.

WE ARE IATS.

WE ARE THE BISON.
