Farm-Based Education with real-world application

FACILITIES

IATS has expanded to Fort Wayne! Our newest campus opened in Fall 2025 and brings our unique education model to students who are looking for a career-focused, hands-on learning experience in agriculture and technology with small classes and flexible scheduling.

PROGRAMS OFFERED

Students in grade 7-9 attend daily, in-person classes (Monday–Friday) while also benefiting from IATS’s blended learning model—combining interactive, real-world experiences with online academic coursework.

Students in grade 10-12 complete coursework online using Edgenuity, a nationally recognized digital learning platform, while still maintaining access to in-person academic support at the IATS Fort Wayne campus. Students enrolled in the online program may choose to come on campus a couple of days per week for individualized assistance, tutoring, and connection with staff as needed.

Real Student Impact

Growing More Than JUST CROPS

Students from across Indiana are using agriculture to make a difference — one garden, one community, one collaboration at a time.

Center Grove students and staff are involved in a project to build raised beds for the Prince’s Lakes community garden, including students August Vermilion, Zade Voelker, Korbin Ottney, teacher Bryan Werner and department head Brent Schulz.

Hands-On Learning, Real-World Results

When students at Center Grove FFA learned about the needs of the Prince’s Lakes community garden, they jumped at the opportunity to help. Partnering with local volunteers and leaders, these students applied their knowledge and skills to assist with everything from garden planning and seed starting to composting and planting. The garden will help provide fresh produce to community members who need it most.

From left, Desiree Freeman, Cody Amos, Matthew Reed, Tyler Deutsch and Cassie Boggs are some of the students from the Indiana Agriculture and Technology School in Trafalgar that are helping with the Prince’s Lakes community garden.

Partnering to Grow Communities

This project is one example of how Indiana Agriculture & Technology School students are making an impact — not just in their own towns, but across the state. In the Fort Wayne area and beyond, our students partner with other schools, districts, and organizations to bring agriculture, innovation, and service together.
