IATS Fort Wayne Launches New Virtual Option for Grades 10–12 Beginning January 5

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

FORT WAYNE, Ind. — Indiana Agriculture & Technology School (IATS) Fort Wayne is expanding learning opportunities for high school students by offering a new virtual learning option for students in grades 10-12, beginning January 5, 2026.

The new option allows students to complete coursework online using Edgenuity, a nationally recognized digital learning platform, while still maintaining access to in-person academic support at the IATS Fort Wayne campus. Students enrolled in the online program may choose to come on campus a couple of days per week for individualized assistance, tutoring, and connection with staff as needed.

This hybrid-style approach builds on the innovative model already in place at IATS Fort Wayne, which launched as a new campus in Fall 2025 serving grades 7-8 through an in-person program. Current students participate in a dynamic school experience that includes visits to the YMCA every other day for physical education and wellness, as well as career days featuring local industry leaders, hands-on learning opportunities, and educational field trips designed to expose students to real-world careers and pathways.

“We know that one size doesn’t fit all when it comes to education,” said Tim Captain, Principal of IATS Fort Wayne. “This online option gives students the flexibility to learn at their own pace while still having access to caring adults, academic support, and a school community when they need it.”

The Edgenuity platform allows students to earn required credits, recover credits if needed, and stay on track for graduation in a structured online environment. Combined with IATS Fort Wayne’s in-person support model, students benefit from both independence and accountability.

“Our goal is to meet students where they are and remove barriers to success,” said Keith Marsh, Executive Director of Indiana Agriculture & Technology School. “By offering an online option with in-person support, we’re creating more pathways for students to thrive – whether they need flexibility, a fresh start, or additional academic support.”

Enrollment for the online option is now open, and students may begin classes starting January 5, 2026.
