IATS Podcast Highlights Graduate Turned Entrepreneur in New Fields & Futures Episode

ndiana Agriculture and Technology School (IATS) is proud to release a new episode of its Fields & Futures podcast, featuring alumnus James Dale, a graduate who transformed an early passion for agriculture into a growing career in videography and storytelling.

Hosted by IATS Executive Director Keith Marsh, the episode explores James’ educational journey from a homeschool background and a childhood love of horticulture to discovering hands-on learning opportunities through IATS that helped him clarify his path, build confidence, and launch his own media business.

In the conversation, James reflects on how IATS’ flexible, student-centered model prepared him not only academically, but also for real-world responsibilities such as time management, accountability, and entrepreneurship.

“What I love about IATS is that it doesn’t function just as a high school,” James shared. “It also has that college element – learning how to manage your time, meet expectations, and take ownership of your work. Those are skills I use every day now.”

The episode highlights IATS’ emphasis on experiential learning, including Active Participation Days (APDs), exposure to emerging agricultural technologies, and opportunities in media production. James credits these experiences with helping him connect agriculture and videography – two fields he now combines through his business, Keep It Clean Media.

During his time at IATS, James participated in hands-on projects involving drone technology, agricultural innovation, and podcast production – experiences that directly influenced his career path. Since graduating, he has filmed weddings, produced documentary work, and launched new storytelling projects focused on preserving personal and community legacies.

James also offers advice to current and prospective students, encouraging them to pursue their passions early, seek hands-on experiences, and take advantage of opportunities in media, public speaking, and career exploration while still in school.
